Fiona Bruce is national winner of the Business Woman of the Year Award "Women into Business" for the founding and successful development of her Community Law Firm Fiona Bruce & Co LLP, based in Cheshire and now employing 15 lawyers and a total of some 30 staff.

Her first hand experience of running and developing a local business for over 20 years - and of experiencing the challenges and benefits this can bring, both to an individual and to a community, have inspired her support for enterprise, skills training, and productivity.

Fiona has focused throughout her professional life on developing and strengthening community projects. She founded a Free Legal Advice Clinic and has overseen this continuously for 18 years. When she stood as Parliamentary Candidate for Warrington South in the 2005 General Election, Fiona was one of the first Parliamentary Candidates to lead social action projects.  She inspired hundreds of young people - including young men from her local Young Offenders Institution - in community work such as clearing public spaces, painting park railings, relaying pathways and scrubbing graffiti - after which one young man said to her "I'll never spray graffiti again!" Fiona co-founded a Homeless Support project and most recently in 2009 co-founded an innovative High Street Advice centre "The Foundry Shop" providing practical help and advice for those experiencing relationship difficulties, legal problems, debt and drug addiction.

Fiona's grass roots style of campaigning enabled her to develop a support network of over 300 local campaigners in the 2005 General Election - most of whom had never had any political involvement before.

As a Warrington Borough Councillor for 6 years - over 3 of them as an Executive Member, for Finance and Value for Money, Fiona focused on challenging and reducing debt run up by a previous Labour administration and in delivering efficiency savings of several million pounds whilst overseeing the lowest Council tax rise for over 10 years.

Fiona has a long term relationship with and commitment to developing a school in Tanzania and in inspiring young people to partner support projects in that region of Africa.  She is married to Richard; they have two teenage sons.

Graham is a local Cheshire man, born on a council estate in Poynton. He attended his local comprehensive school, Poynton High, leaving with few qualifications, and went on to work in a nearby supermarket stacking shelves.

Graham went on to study at night school as a mature student, graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University Business School with a Business Degree and Diploma in Marketing Management. He went on to have a successful twenty year business career in manufacturing, working for companies such as BAE Systems and Hewlett Packard, eventually becoming a Company Director.

He has always served his local community, spending four years as a Special Constable in the Cheshire Constabulary and ten years as a local Councillor in Macclesfield. At Macclesfield Borough Council, he served on the Community Development Committee and was part of a team of Councillors that took the Council’s Audit Commission rating from “poor” in 2000 to “good” in just four years.

In July 2007, he was selected by a primary open to all residents of Weaver Vale, regardless of which party they normally support. For three years he tirelessly campaigned across the constituency, calling for tough action on crime and fighting against post office closures.

Graham was elected as Member of Parliament for Weaver Vale, gaining the seat with a swing of over 8%, in what was one of the best results across the country. He has pledged to work hard for all constituents and put them before everything else in politics, including his own party.

In his spare time Graham loves history (specialising in military, social, economic and political history) and has a good size library on the subject. He is a keen First World War historian who regularly visits the Western Front. Graham is also a keen sportsman, especially football, and is a lifelong Manchester United supporter.

Above all, Graham is a family man, and loves spending time with his wife Cheryl and three young children, George, Tom and Sophie. They live in Cheshire, in the village of Rainow.

Since being elected Graham has been working hard on the issues that matter to local people; fighting plans for a massive wind farm on Frodsham marshes; calling for tough action on illegal greenbelt travellers sites, backing residents and regulars efforts to save local community pubs; and working to improve school choice.

Born in 1959 in Glasgow, Lorraine spent over twenty years in business before deciding to seek elected office in 2002. She has worked for several major national and international companies with the responsibility of negotiating multi-million pound commercial contracts.

In 2000, she became a consultant to a number of businesses and clients, ranging from hi-tech database companies to consumer energy providers, advising them on the public relations and media strategies.

She has also held the role of Press and Media Advisor to the Chairman of a senior Parliamentary Committee. Lorraine has been happily married to Mark for eighteen years. Her personal interests include travelling with Mark, reading, collecting advertising memorabilia and other “interesting junk”, cooking and socialising with friends.

Lorraine Fullbrook's Experience

Lorraine was the Parliamentary candidate for South Ribble at the 2005 General Election, when she reduced the incumbent Labour MP’s majority by half, to just over 2000 after a recount. Lorraine feels honoured and privileged to have been re-selected in October 2005 as the Conservative Parliamentary Spokesman for the South Ribble constituency.

In her short political journey, which began in May 2002, Lorraine has risen rapidly. Just two days after being elected as a local councillor, she joined the Cabinet of the council as the Cabinet Member for Communications. Six months later, she was promoted to Cabinet Member for Finance and was very proud to have delivered inflation only council tax increases during her tenure – in contrast to the 27% previously levied by the LibDem leadership. Just six months after taking over the finance portfolio, she was elected as the first female Leader of the Council – but retained the financial reins.

She resigned as a councillor and council leader in May 2004 to commit herself fully to the South Ribble constituency. She says, “I am delighted to have been given the chance to finish the job in South Ribble I began two years ago. I committed myself to the people of the South Ribble constituency then, and will continue to do so for the rest of my political career”.

She is a supporter of the Centre for Social Justice and has a long and proven record of fighting inappropriate sitings of telecom masts, unsympathetic and speculative development and the retention of our green environment and wildlife.

Paul Maynard is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Blackpool North and Cleveleys. Born in Cheshire in 1975, Paul started his education at a special school in Winsford and went on to study History at Oxford University. For a number of years prior to entering parliament Paul worked for the Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox.

Since becoming the MP for Blackpool North and Cleveleys, after achieving a 6.5% swing from Labour, Paul has dedicated himself to a number of issues. In his capacity as a member of the Transport Select Committee Paul regularly holds the Government to account on all aspects of its road, rail and aviation policies. A commitment to improving the quality of transport provision in Northern England is a continued aspect of Paul's parliamentary work. Additionally Paul has become a strong advocate on speech and language therapy and epilepsy issues, leading debates on both. Paul has also participated in the establishment of All Party Parliamentary groups on Muscular Dystrophy and Social Tourism.

Of his role as a Parliamentarian Paul says "I feel that public service is such a devalued concept these days that you have a responsibility to put yourself forward, and show that being an MP is about making a difference - a cliché now, maybe - and not just walking by on the other side of the road. " When it comes to the constituency he represents Paul says that he is "thrilled to have the chance to represent both Cleveleys and the parts of Blackpool to the north of the North Pier. They are both towns with long and proud histories, but we should all be optimistic about their future too - I know I am".

Andrew campaigned vigorously against the controversial shake-up of hospital services which saw the removal of blue-light emergency services from Burnley General Hospital on 1st November 2007. In 2006/2007 Andrew spoke out against the proposed cuts to the local fire service, which saw the loss of a fire engine in Colne and one in Barnoldswick. He also conducted a major survey of residents views on crime and anti-social behavior across Pendle during which over 35,000 "We Do Not Buy or Sell at this Door" cards were provided free to local residents.

Working alongside Pendle's Conservative Councillors in 2007, Andrew campaigned against the local Lib Dems proposals to merge Pendle and Burnley Councils. Following his campaign this costly proposal, which would have seen decision making become even more remote from local residents, was rejected by the Government.   Andrew also campaigned against above inflation council tax increases (Pendle Council Tax increased by 4.95% in 2007 and 4.95% in 2008) and is pleased by the measures the Government introduced to ensure a council tax freeze in 2011/12.

During 2008, Andrew led the fight against the Labour Government’s plans to close a further six of Pendle's sub-Post Offices. He launched a petition which collected over 4,000 signatures against the cuts and lobbied East Lancashire's Labour MP's to suspend the closure programme. Sadly the cuts still went ahead, bringing the number of Pendle's Post Offices closed during Labours 13 years in power to 16 branches.

Since his election as Pendle’s MP Andrew has been a strong voice for the local area, regularly raising the concerns of local residents and businesses in the House of Commons.  Since delivering his Maiden Speech on 17th June 2010 in a debate on building a high skilled economy Andrew has raised issues such as fuel poverty, PCSOs and the importance of protecting spending on the NHS. Andrew has been particularly vocal on the importance of manufacturing jobs and the aerospace sector to Pendle frequently raising the concerns of local firms. He has also highlighted individual residents’ problems to Ministers, including a case of telecoms fraud in Brierfield, property freeholders abusing their position in Nelson and the Yousaf Family murders in Pakistan.

Andrew believes the most important role of an MP is to represent their constituents and to work hard to resolve local problems. That's why Andrew is working with residents at a very local level to help fight for the local community on the issues that matter most to them. He also keeps residents up to date with a regular "Pendle Matters" newsletters focusing on local issues.

Edward was born in 1973 in Cheshire to John and Alex Timpson.

He has been MP for Crewe and Nantwich since the by-election in May 2008, and held the seat for the Conservatives at the 2010 General election.

He has an elder sister and brother as well as two adopted younger brothers. His parents have also fostered 87 children over the last 30 years, many of whom Edward grew up with.

Having been selected as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Crewe and Nantwich at an open primary in July 2007, Edward spent the next 10 months campaigning hard in the constituency before the sad death of Gwyneth Dunwoody MP in April 2008.

In the by-election that followed, Edward overturned a 7,000 Labour majority and was elected as MP for Crewe and Nantwich on 22nd May 2008.

Edward has lived and worked in the local community almost his entire life. From 1999 until his election in 2008, Edward practised as a family law barrister in local courts, including Crewe, specialising in the cases of vulnerable children.

Edward has dedicated his time as MP for Crewe and Nantwich to improving the lives of local residents. With an office in the heart of Crewe, regular surgeries and newsletters, visits to local schools, colleges, charities, businesses, residents' associations, religious groups and trades union branches amongst others, Edward has immersed himself in the community he represents.

He has led on a variety of campaigns since taking office. These include campaigns to save the Weston Road Sorting Office and the Oak Street Tax Office in Crewe, the Ambulance First Responders in Nantwich, and a variety of employment and transport issues including Bombardier, Bentley and the National Railway Skills Academy for Crewe.

In the last two years, Edward has become Patron of Home Start based in Crewe, the Holly Holy Day Society and Supported Community Business who help local people with special needs to develop their skills so they can get into the workplace. Edward is also an Honorary Member of the Crewe Alex Supporters' Initiative and the Royal British Legion, as well as a member of the Cheshire Neighbours Credit Union and a Vice-President of the Acton Amateur Operatic Society who perform regularly at the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe.

At Westminster, Edward sat on the Children Schools and Families Select Committee and the Joint Committee on Human Rights. He is also Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) on Adoption & Fostering and on Looked After Children & Care Leavers, Secretary of the APPG for Dairy Farmers, Vice Chairman on the APPG for Runaway Missing Children and Vice Chairman of the APPG on Epilepsy. Edward is also Vice President of Conservative Friends of Poland. His areas of particular policy interest are education, social and family policy and justice.

Edward is enormously proud to represent the people of Crewe and Nantwich at Westminster, and believes they deserve an MP who puts their constituency first. As MP for Crewe and Nantwich, Edward is not frightened to stand up for his constituents even where it is at odds with his Party's policy. He rebelled against his party on both the proposed part-privatisation of the Royal Mail and on changes to Bingo Tax.

Edward is married to Julia and they have three children, a boy Sam (aged 6) and two girls, Elizabeth (aged 4) and Lydia (aged 2), all born on their due date at Leighton Hospital, Crewe. Lydia is a leap year baby!

Last year Edward completed his seventh marathon in London, raising over £3,000 for local disabled children charities. He ran the marathon again during the 2010 General Election campaign for two more local charities of which he is a patron.

Away from politics, Edward is a fan of football, both watching and playing.

Edward is part of a team that has played a series of fixtures against the Liverpool Legends, Manchester City, West Bromwich Albion and Hollyoaks, raising nearly £30,000 for St Luke's Cheshire Hospice and the Wingate Centre.
